Starting with the U.S. Department of Justice's Special Operations Group (SOG) team, the LAPD SWAT team, and the Texas Rangers, more than 280 law enforcement agencies across the country have adopted or approved the high-capacity 1911 as their official weapon.
The reason the high-capacity (or double-stack) frame is chosen for duty use is that it retains the excellent handling and reliability of the proofed 1911 while increasing its ammunition capacity to 14 rounds for .45 calibers or 18 or more for .38 calibers.
Black OPS, released under Para USA, is, as its name suggests, a variation designed for tactical use.
The slide, which retains the traditional 1911 design, features wide, machined cocking serrations on the front as well as the rear, creating a tactical look while also allowing for easy operation even with gloved hands.
The dovetailed front sight features white points.
Combined with the low-mounted tactical rear sight, it delivers an excellent sight picture.
The machined aluminum bushing-type barrel features M14 threads (positive-hand threads) that allow for direct silencer attachment without the need for adapters.
The barrel itself is machined from lightweight aluminum to minimize the impact of slide movement when a silencer is attached.
A thread protector is included to protect the M14 threads when not in use as an attachment.
The base of the Ambidextrous extended thumb safety, which can be operated from either side, features a red dot that allows you to visually check whether the safety is on or off.
The panel surface features a compound anti-slip pattern, and the reliable grip of G10 provides a firm grip and authentic feel.
The slim silencer (23mm diameter, 127mm total length) fits snugly around the handgun and is designed to not interfere with sighting.
The interior features urethane sound-absorbing material to effectively absorb the sound of BBs being fired.(Note: The blowback operation sound will remain, so the silencer will not be effective during dry firing.)
